I am impressed with the work that C. Paul Schroeder has done in the homeless community. Now he is publishing a book that he hopes is life changing as well as transforming for those working in communities helping those in need. Although we may not be quite on the same page in our approach in how we express our faith in these communities, Paul’s approach has been effective in creating real work for folks that have struggled economically. I really like that.
Paul’s new book, Practice Makes PURPOSE: Six Spiritual Practices that Will Change Your Life and Transform Your Community is coming out in June. The book has been endorsed by Greg Boyle, who wrote Tattoos on the Heart, and by Dan O’Neill, the founder of Mercy Corps International. Paul has set up a “buy one/give one” Kickstarter campaign where you can pre-order the book at a discount, and another copy will be donated to a nonprofit in support of their mission. I thought it looked interesting.
