Coming Home

I love coming “back home”.

My home to me is so familiar. Filled with good memories. So warm. So comfortable. I have been in this home for over 20 years. We have remodeled it, worked on seemingly endless projects in it, furnished it and decorated it to our tastes and liking.

It is of great comfort to me as I’m away, to return home to this place.

How much more wonderful will the place our Father prepares for us will be?

“In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” – John 14:2-3 ESV

I think of the care I took to provide a place for those I loved – my children and spouse. It is a small measure of what Jesus will do for each of us – however he will do so in an unflawed fashion. No rust, no mice, plumbing issues or fading paint. The place he is preparing for us will be perfect in every way AND we will have the constant companionship of the architect and builder – Jesus!
