Dear LORD,

You are a mighty and powerful God. You are also a tender and loving God. Your character is deep and rich. You are my creator and sustainer – my eternal hope.

As I go about my work today, provide in me the right heart, LORD, a sense of presence and patience, of understanding and love for each person I encounter, that is beyond my own abilities. Provide the presence of your Holy Spirit to be my guide.

My heart breaks over the people on my prayer list, some of which have been on there for many years. Provide me the faith to continue to entrust them to you, that you are an Almighty God who hears my prayers! I will continue, however, to lift my prayers to you and believe your ways are best.

Psalm 30:2 (ESV) “O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me.” I am not to be secure in my prosperity (Psalm 30:6-7 ESV) yet to always seek your face, LORD, wanting to know you and pursue a relationship with you. Without you, even in prosperity, I will be dismayed – alarmed, distressed, disheartened, lost hope.
